Hot girlz under the sun! (looong post)

Hello lovely readers of my almost abandoned blog!! I want to welcome all the new followers (I hope you like it here and you'll stick around) and thank the old ones for supporting me and for always leaving all your nice comments (which take time and effort and extra care, so I appreciate each and every one)!!
You people keep me going!!
This has been a week that flew by so fast... I did a lot of housework, some new jewellery making and a lot of protesting against I.M.F. and the current greek government! (for new readers - things in Greece are a little hectic lately! A lot of political and social action is going on and many of us are actively involved). I was also out of internet for 3 days due to some network malfunction or something!

On to some fashion pics now! Latest outfit I wore yesterday for a coffee in the sun with two friends! One of those friends is also my neighbor, which is so cool! Neighbors can be a real pain in the... you know, but when they are nice people that you get along, it's so great! I'm lucky that my neighbors are young and fashionable girls like me (and they love and support my jewellery too)! After the coffee and the catching-up I was trying to persuade them to take pics and show up in my blog.... The first reaction was this one...

.....but finally they changed their mind!

That's Χρυσάνθη (Chrysanthi)....
So it's nice to see some fresh faces around here (see? I do have friends! Some of them are not imaginary, they do exist!). It was fun to have some support while taking pics in public (I think by now I'm the town's "crazy lady" who takes pics of herself!).

And this is Γεωργία (Georgia), my neighbor.
Fun fact that most of you probably don't know: Can you see the blue building behind us? This is CHS - Center for Hellenic Studies in Greece, which is an annex of Harvard University in Europe!! Did you know we have Harvard students in our town? You do now!

Oh, I almost forgot!! Thanks everyone for voting in my poll! I took the outcome into consideration and thought about it a lot. Remixers have already started with the 30 for 30 summer remix. I won't join them this time!! I will be posting outfit pics of course...  I could even make a "top 30 summer outfits" to make it kind of more organized, but like Ashley said in her comment: "It's summer, it's supposed to be a relaxing period!".
So I won't commit to remixing this time! But stay tuned for more summer dresses, jewellery making, tutorials and a lot of greek craziness!! Love you - don't forget to keep smiling!

And a banner all my Greek followers will understand hopefully...!

One top....two skirts

Back to a more normal blogging routine! I'm fine now and already took care of some unfinished projects. The weather is warming up, we have our ups and downs, but spring is on the way fast!!
So.. back to remixing those outfits, cause hey... I might be slow, but I'm not a quitter!!

The basis here is a combination of a burgundy top, a blue sleeveless one and a grey cardigan

For the first outfit it's worn with a chocolate brown skirt, boots and belt to kind of keep it simple and neutral. Oh, and the "Flower Power Girl" necklace - first time seen here! Although I've made this necklace having in mind a summer outfit - something like "a romantic white dress floating in the wind and I'm walking barefoot on a sandy beach" sort of outfit - I can now see it's pretty verstile and can be incorporated in winter outfits as well!! Me.Happy!

For the second outfit, since the top combination is already loud, I've paired it with a louder skirt, just for the fun of it! I think it works with the floral skirt, what do you think?

By the way, these are views of our balcony and my lousy attempts in gardening!

Mixing neutrals.

One of my new favorite experiments when dressing up is trying to mix neutrals together.
I think it can be quite challenging, especially if your neutrals have different undertones (like here) and if you - like me up to a while ago - think that black is THE neutral colour to go.

I think the key in doing that is repeating the colours or undertones in the outfit.
I'm not sure I've mentioned it, but my studies were in interior design and sometimes I treat an outfit as I would treat a room.
For a harmonious result you have to keep a flow in the colours you use. If you're decorating a room you would repeat your main colours 3-4 times to achieve harmony and  coziness! To apply that in an outfit...

.... I've paired the skirt and greyish top (they both have red undertones), the white-grey cardi with the white top, the jacket matches the green tights and the different shades of brown of the belt, shoes and bag are completing the outfit!

Given that all these neutrals are kind of boring (at least for me) I went for my funky "Snoopy and Lucy" earrings!!

And a custom made ring with bright-coloured circles!!

Black, brown and grey.... again?

Well, after working mostly with men for the last 2 years, I'm kind of adapting to the attitude:"don't fix it if it ain't broken" and "if it's working, stick with it"! So, since I like mixing pastels after all, here's another black-brown-grey outfit!

Back to my safe and beloved skirt-tee-platform combo, I just added a belt, a cardi and a brooch. The brooch actually came with a Chilli Pepper weave coat I bought from ASOS  (down to 50 euro out of 140) but was attached to a clasp and it came off (how handy!).

The skirt, although very cheap, is soon hitting my "all-time-top-5-favourite-skirts" list! You also saw it here, with a wee bit of colour! The same applies for my new wonders shoes!

They are the most comfortable shoes I own and I think I can wear them during spring and next summer easily! What do you think?

The last picture is irrelevant but it still fits under the title:Black, brown and grey!!! It's our kind, cute and smart doggy - Billy; and the famous Cat band! (2 out of the 3 members)! See you soon! xxx
